Con speech and grammar: Once the subject in question is established to be "the con," specific con days are referred to by the day of the week and not necessarily the date.
 
i.e. "Let's meet Friday."

An exception is Wednesday which is also "preview night" for professional attendees.
In June/July, use of the term "preview night" does not require a preceding mention of the con.

i.e. "I'm going to miss preview night because I have a storyboard due Monday."
(This is a relatively common occurrence and the task may be any number of things including scripts, backgrounds, character designs, music cues, or turnarounds.)
